Summative Assessment:
Students will be required to find ways to raise money to donate to an organization that helps refugees across the world. Students will need to use the information they know and be able to articulate their understanding of it through their social action project, whether it is writing and sending out letters to people in the school and their communities, creating fliers and distributing them, writing an article in the school newspaper, or performing a skit that helps explain what is happening to these groups of people. Students will be graded on their effort, the information they applied to their project, and an essay describing not only what they chose to do, but also why and how do they hope their efforts will make a difference for refugees on a global level.
